A French international right back, Emma Jacques was trained at Metz Handball. After attending the Pôle Espoir (youth academy) and then the Centre de Formation (training center), she signed her first professional contract with the club and played there for nine seasons. She then joined Esztergom in Hungary for her first experience abroad.
